Getting Started - Favorite Recipes

Many fruit and vegetable juices work great with LivingFuel (fresh juiced or squeezed organic is best). Citrus and tomato juice are popular, while lemon juice and lemonade sweetened with low-glycemic natural sweeteners such as TheraSweet are some of the healthiest choices. Be careful how much sugar you add to your smoothie through the various juice and fruit options, as sugar is unhealthy and should be reduced or eliminated over time.

You can be creative by adding additional healthy ingredients to your serving of LivingFuel. Remember, some of the best things in life are acquired tastes. Discover what works for you and your family by trying various juices, fruits, and almond, rice, or oat beverages. There are also tips below you can use to make modifications.

We recommend a high-quality blender such as BlendTec or Vitamix to mix your ingredients thoroughly and ensure consistency throughout. If you find your smoothie has too much powder for your taste with two scoops of LivingFuel, start with one and work your way up.

Most people enjoy chia seeds - the incredibly nutritious tiny whole seeds found in LivingFuel. However, some young children prefer to have the LivingFuel powder put into a coffee bean grinder to grind up the seeds before mixing a shake or even to have their shakes poured through a strainer to remove the seeds. It is nutritionally best to leave the seeds in; but if you choose to strain out the chia seeds, it is even more important to supplement your diet with LivingFuel's companion product, SuperEssentials Omega.

Recipe Tips:

  • Adding some ice cubes will make your smoothie colder and add some texture
  • Frozen fruit will add more flavor and texture
  • Add some banana or TheraSweet if you want to increase the sweetness
  • Use 50-50 milk to water ratio with unsweetened coconut, almond or cashew milk to change the consistency and help stave off hunger
  • Adding healthy fats like coconut oil or avocado will help stave off hunger even longer
  • Adding a scoop or two of yogurt will give your smoothie additional thickness
  • Adding LivingProtein to any Super Smoothie will allow you to increase your protein intake in a tasty way

Basic Recipe

For a complete and balanced meal, the basic recipe is to mix one serving (two scoops) of LivingFuel with at least 16 ounces of purified or spring water.

Smoothies

Use a high-speed blender for maximum smoothness. Hand mixers or shakers also work well if you are not adding fruit. Some people like using almond, rice, or oat beverages in their shakes; however, most believe that LivingFuel lends itself more to fruit or vegetable juices.

SuperBerry SuperSmoothie

Mix the shake as described above, particularly SuperBerry® in the basic recipe, and then add some fresh or frozen berries and/or a third to a half of a banana and a small amount of crushed ice. Blend the ingredients into your drink (try not to make it too cold, as very cold drinks compromise digestion).

SuperGreens Smoothie

Mix 2–3 ounces of fresh vegetable juice (e.g., tomato juice) with SuperGreens and water to desired thickness.

Fruity LivingProtein Smoothie

2 scoops (1 serving) LivingProtein® or 1 scoop of LivingProtein and one scoop of SuperBerry®

SuperBaby Formula

Start with a glass baby bottle with the silicone nipple hole cut slightly larger

Add 1 to 4 oz. of coconut milk or coconut milk powder

Add heated purified water and whisk with a fork to break up any clumps

Add cooler purified water to achieve desired consistency and temperature

Add 1/8 - 1/2 scoop of LivingFuel SuperBerry® or SuperGreens (if you like, you may blend it beforehand in a coffee grinder to blend down the chia seeds)

Stir with a fork and then shake

Serve with plenty of smiles and snuggles!

Children's Berry Blast

Most kids prefer SuperBerry®, but either flavor works. For a delicious treat add a splash of orange juice, a splash of apple juice, a splash of almond or rice beverage, and perhaps a few berries to the LivingFuel shake.

LivingFuel Nut Butter (Also Good as an Athletic Food)

This is a snack and an athletic fuel. Mix two scoops of SuperGreens, one scoop of SuperBerry® and spring water into an oatmeal-like consistency.
